Is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette worth the $$$?

Highlighters can be tricky to work with. Use the wrong product and you draw attention to every flaw you wanted to hide. But with the right product – a finely milled powder, in a shade that suits your skin tone, you could create magic. Think of the cheekbones you could have or pretty, wide eyes or just a warm sun-kissed glow that doesn’t look like it came from a box. So does the Hourglass Ambient Light Palette help with any of these?

While the palette is not a new launch in the beauty world, it only recently hit our little island of Singapore. The Hourglass Ambient Light Palette comes with three highlighting options – Dim Light, Incandescent Light (exclusive to the palette) and Radiant Light. I say highlighting options because they help create the glow your skin might have when present in this type of lighting.

A dusting of Dim Light will blur any imperfections, while Incandescent light makes light work (see what I did there) of giving the illusion of higher cheekbones, wider set or larger eyes, fuller lips or just a young, healthy complexion. And when you’re stuck at your desk but need a touch of sun, it’s Radiant Light you want.

At S$97 though, it’s not cheap. However, if you do the math, it all adds up pretty nicely. I’ve had the palette for more than a year now, and it is a rare occasion when I won’t use this palette when doing my makeup.

Final verdict?
