First Alicia Keys and now Kim Kardashian. The reality TV star who with her numerous selfies and behind the scenes Snaps got us all to contour and strobe on cue, decided to attend the Balenciaga show at Paris Fashion Week completely makeup free. While I don’t think Kim is going to go sans makeup on the regular, her flawless skin has given us all #goals. And here’s what you need to do to get amazing skin like hers.

Cleanse
One of the most important, and basic, steps to flawless skin is cleansing it throughly of makeup and grime that builds up during the day before you get into bed. Better still double cleanse, first with a makeup remover and next with a gentle foam or micellar water cleanser. This ensures your skin is free of any toxins and can sufficiently repair and rejuvenate itself while you sleep. I like to remove my makeup with the Banila Co Clean It Zero balm or the Shu Uemura Anti/Oxi+ cleansing oil, and follow with the Sulwhasoo foaming cleanser or Bioderma HydraBio H20 micellar water.
Moisturise
Kim’s (and my) preferred moisturiser is the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial cream. One of the best things you can do for your skin is to keep it hydrated – even if you have oily skin. Dehydration exacerbates the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Keeping your skin moist and hydrated with a moisturiser like the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial cream – which is lightweight, but locks in moisture to keep skin comfortable through the day – will not only keep pesky lines at bay, it will also strengthen the skin’s natural protective barrier keeping it healthy.

Exfoliate
Getting rid of dead skin that sits on the surface allows your serums and moisturisers to better penetrate the skin giving you better results from your skincare. Exfoliating regularly will also help promote skin cell turn over which keeps your complexion looking bright and even toned. Not sure which exfoliator you should pick? Here’s a handy guide to exfoliating for your skin type.
Use an eye cream
If you don’t already use an eye cream, you need to start using one right now. Gently tapping an eye cream like the Algenist Power Advanced Wrinkle Fighter 360 Eye Serum or the Neal’s Yard Remedies Frankincense Intense eye cream on to the skin around your eyes in the morning and before bed will help soften wrinkles, prevent fine lines and reduce dark circles ensuring you don’t need concealer when you decide to go makeup free. In your 20s? Try the Crabtree & Evelyn Damask Rose Restoring Eye Cream.
Use sunscreen every day
The sun is the number one cause of skin ageing. Extended exposure also causes pigmentation and an uneven skin tone, which is why it is imperative to add a sunscreen to your skincare routine. Make sure to use at least SPF 30 daily and SPF 50 if you’re going to be outdoors for a prolonged period of time. I absolutely love the DHC Suncut Q10 Aqua Gel SPF50/PA++++.
Visit a dermatologist
Kim regularly makes appointments with some of the best dermatologists in Hollywood – and it shows. When you’re over 30, treating your skin to an expert diagnosis regularly takes the guess-work out of choosing your skincare. Plus with a targeted and bespoke skincare routine and treatments, you’re guaranteed skin like Kim’s.
Following this skincare regimen will leave your skin glowing, smooth and soft so you can choose to go makeup free whenever you want!
Thoroughly enjoyed the post! Lovely tips xx
